John Jean: Enzyme Washed
John Jean is a modern take on 1940s workwear. Featuring a high waist and flat front with an adjustable side fastening. The zip is concealed in the side pocket. Rainbow selvedge details the pockets and belt loops. The leg is a loose cut and slightly tapers at the hem. John Jean is designed to be worn slightly cropped at the ankle bone.
John Jean inside leg length is 70cm.
Double bronze snaps give the benefit of adjustable waist fastening.
Your raw denim John Jean should be a super firm fit and will feel a little stiff, when you first try them on. After a few wears the denim will grow and relax through the waist, hips and seat, becoming half a size bigger. As time passes they will soften beautifully and mild to perfectly fit your body, becoming as individual as you.
We recommend purchasing your usual size. Use our sizing chart to determine the best fit.
Indigo denim: 100% cotton raw, rainbow selvedge denim. Dyed with natural indigo and woven on old shuttle looms in Kuroki Mills, Ibara, Japan.
With raw denim, it is important to wait as long as possible before the first wash. (Three months is a good guideline.) Hang your jean skirt out in the fresh air to refresh them, rather than washing. We recommend a cool hand wash as this will retain the best colour and ensure there is no shrinkage.
1. ¼ Fill the bath with cool water
2. Add a teaspoon of detergent
- Let jean skirt soak for 45mins
- Give them a bit of a scrub to remove any dirt and grime
- Rinse with cold water
- Hang outside to dry, inside out
High quality garments using the finest materials last much longer than those made of lesser quality material. Resulting in a much better cost performance, as well as being more gentle to the environment.
